DLS / Rain Rule Education
Rain-affected matches use competition-specific playing conditions and official methods. StriveMatch does not provide an official DLS calculator in this phase. Use this section to learn why resources, wickets, overs, and match situation can affect revised targets.
Overs rule
Cricket overs are not decimal math. 10.3 means 10 overs and 3 balls, not 10.3 decimal overs.
Runs per over. For example, 150 runs in 20 overs is 7.50 runs per over.
Batting tempo per 100 balls. It helps compare scoring pace with match context.
Runs conceded per over. It should be read with bowling role, phase, and field setting.
StriveMatch does not provide an official DLS or Duckworth-Lewis-Stern calculator. A future rain-interruption guide may explain concepts for learning only if accuracy, licensing, and competition-rule boundaries are reviewed.
Match situation tools
Use these tools to practise match calculations without treating them as official outcomes.

Use target-to-win, not first-innings score, to avoid confusion.

This is a simple planning aid. Wickets, batters, pitch, and pressure still matter.

This uses current run rate only. It does not include wickets, acceleration, pitch, or pressure.
Projection is based on current rate only. It is not a prediction engine.

Batting tools
Use these to understand scoring speed and partnership contribution in plain terms.
Calculate batting strike rate from runs and balls faced.
Learning result
Batting strike rate: 150.
That means 150 runs per 100 balls.
Strike rate is scoring tempo per 100 balls, not a full judgement of batting quality.
Example: 42 from 28 balls is a strike rate of 150.00.
Add batter runs and optional extras during a partnership.
Learning result
Partnership total: 89 runs.
38 + 44 + 7 extras.
Partnership totals help explain match context, but scorebooks and scorers decide official records.

Check whether a simple mix of singles, fours, and sixes covers a chase target.

Team and run-rate tools

Avoid confusion between cricket overs and decimal numbers.
Convert cricket overs to balls and balls to cricket overs.

Cricket overs use six balls. The ball digit should be 0 to 5.
Example: 4.5 overs = 29 balls; 17 balls = 2.5 overs.
